Brett's portraits are explorations of immigration and immigrants; they are love stories for home. This series began with her fascination with living in a highly multicultural neighbourhood, which was particularly heightened for her, as a transplant from Vancouver with global ties. Each silhouette weaves memories and landscapes to create a cohesive whole. They are both a celebration and a means to attend to the ache for home.
