Bri Hoy has been working with Graven Feather in an internship for the Creative Industries program at Ryerson University. She is leading the 2016 Youth Residency Program this summer where she will be teaching various activities that explore what it means to create work in an artistic field.
One of the activities which will be included in this residency, is a demonstration of embroidery stitches. Bri has been creating embroidery based art works for two and a half years with skills handed down to her from her grandmother. In a video interview conducted with Alexis Venerus she speaks about her experience with stitching and her favorite subject matter. The interview is followed by a short how-to video where Bri demonstrates the stitches needed to make a small broccoli character - a chain stitch and the French knot.
